On Sunday, 15 May 2022, we celebrated the International Day of the Baltic Harbour Porpoise (#IDBHP) 🐬 at Skansen in Stockholm!
The third Sunday in May of each year was declared by UNEP/ASCOBANS as the “International Day of the Baltic Harbour Porpoise” in order to raise awareness of the critical situation of the harbour porpoise, the only whale resident in the Baltic Sea.
With only a few hundred animals, the Baltic harbour porpoise is critically endangered, and urgent measures are needed to save the population.
