The IUCN WPCA Europe - River Restoration Study Trip offered a two-day programme that includes indoor activities in Vienna as well as excursions to the nearby national park on 4-5 May 2023.

- exchange of technical information on river engineering measures such as the restoration of side channels, the rehabilitation of banks and other ecological improvements in regulated river systems.
- Discussion on relevant issues in the field of River Restoration, such as the controversy surrounded habitat conservation and the promotion of dynamics in riparian systems.
