What is HELCOM?
The Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission – also known as the Helsinki Commission (HELCOM) – is an intergovernmental organization (IGO) and a regional sea convention in the Baltic Sea area. HELCOM was established about four decades ago to protect the marine environment of the Baltic Sea from all sources of pollution through intergovernmental cooperation. On the 03.11.2020 from 13:00 to 15:00 was held online the First Meeting of the Hazardous substances and litter segment team for drafting the updated Baltic Sea Action Plan.
