What is HELCOM?
The Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission – also known as the Helsinki Commission (HELCOM) – is an intergovernmental organization (IGO) and a regional sea convention in the Baltic Sea area. HELCOM was established about four decades ago to protect the marine environment of the Baltic Sea from all sources of pollution through intergovernmental cooperation. From the 05.10.2020 to 08.10.2020 was held online the 20th Meeting of the Maritime Working Group by HELCOM.
Bettina Taylor who works for BUND participated to the event on behalf of CCB. Mikhail Durkin CCB’s Executive Secretary also took part in the meeting.
