What is HELCOM?
The Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission – also known as the Helsinki Commission (HELCOM) – is an intergovernmental organization (IGO) and a regional sea convention in the Baltic Sea area. HELCOM was established about four decades ago to protect the marine environment of the Baltic Sea from all sources of pollution through intergovernmental cooperation. HELCOM has held online on 31.03.2021 the 3rd Meeting of the Hazardous substances and litter segment team for drafting the updated Baltic Sea Action Plan. The event started at 09:00 and end at 16:00 CET.
