Opis

The informal consultation session of the HELCOM Fish Correspondence Group on aquaculture (IC CG AQUACULTURE 1-2022) was hosted by Germany and held online on 11 May 2022.

The Session was attended by participants from Denmark, Estonia, European Union, Finland, Germany, Lithuania, and Poland, as well as by Observers from Coalition Clean Baltic (CCB) and the Federation of Aquaculture Producers (FEAP).

CCB participant in the session:
- Mikhail Durkin, CCB Executive Secretary

Outcomes of the session:
- The Session considered the draft chapter on reducing the spread of non-indigenous species as contained in document 4-6 submitted by CCB. The Session noted comments e.g., on the mandatory style of wording used in the draft and on the inclusion of locally absent species within the scope of the chapter, which may not be relevant when it comes to species in the Baltic Sea marine environment where no biogeographical boundaries exist. The Session invited CCB to share the publications referred to in the draft to facilitate
consideration and commenting on the draft.

- The Session took note of document 4-11 containing comments by Estonia on documents 4-2, 4-3, 4-6 and 4-7. The Session invited Germany, Poland and CCB to take also these comments into account when developing the updated chapters for the next session.
