IUCN Global Standard for nature-based solutions
The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) is a membership Union uniquely composed of both government and civil society organisations. It provides public, private and non-governmental organisations with the knowledge and tools that enable human progress, economic development and nature conservation to take place together. Created in 1948, IUCN has evolved into the world’s largest and most diverse environmental network. It harnesses the experience, resources and reach of its 1,300 Member organisations and the input of some 13,000 experts. IUCN is the global authority on the status of the natural world and the measures needed to safeguard it.

Description

On Friday, 23 July 2021 - 15:00 to 16:00 CET was held online the IUCN Global Standard for nature-based solutions.

One year on from the launch of the IUCN Global Standard for nature-based solutions, IUCN kicked off its series of Annual Updates on nature-based solutions. Every year on July 23 we looked both backward and forward, bringing the champions and critics of nature-based solutions to the same table. What were the stories of success? Where did we encounter barriers? What can we learn from to mainstream nature-based solutions? And of course - what will we do next together.
