The Polish-German conference "The Wkra Forest - water in the landscape and climate change" was held on August 10, 2022
On June 28-29, 2022, we organized a Polish-German conference on the cross-border area of the Wkra Forest (PL) and Ueckermünder Heide (DE). The conference was attended by about 60 representatives from 30 organizations and institutions, thus tightening regional cross-border cooperation on the protection of forest areas against the challenges posed by climate change.
The purpose of the event was to enable the meeting of Polish and German entities involved in the protection of the nature of the Wkra Forest on both sides of the border and to facilitate the exchange of views on the local water balance in forest ecosystems, the impact of climate change on this area and current EU environmental policy instruments in the field of nature protection and forestry.
