What is HELCOM? The Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission – also known as the Helsinki Commission (HELCOM) – is an intergovernmental organization (IGO) and a regional sea convention in the Baltic Sea area. HELCOM was established about four decades ago to protect the marine environment of the Baltic Sea from all sources of pollution through intergovernmental cooperation. Description

On March 9, 2023, was the HELCOM Baltic Stakeholder Conference 2023 - think outside the box!

The aim of the Baltic Stakeholder Conference 2023 (BSC2023) was to harvest ideas from stakeholders around the sea – and beyond – for accelerating the implementation of the BSAP and finding solutions for both long-standing and emerging challenges as well as to share examples to inspire others. All participants were encouraged to think outside the box! The Conference was hosted by Latvia.
