Official meetings of all HELCOM Working and Experts Groups and other subsidiary bodies are postponed due to the HELCOM strategic pause until further notice, however, informal consultation sessions, without Russian participation, are organized and hosted by a Contracting Party.
The informal consultation sessions process and discuss documents and provide guidance and recommendations as to how to progress work.

Description
While official meetings of all HELCOM Working and Expert Groups and other subsidiary bodies are postponed due to the HELCOM strategic pause until further notice, informal consultation sessions, without Russian participation, can be organized and hosted by a Contracting Party.
The IC EG MAMA2-2023 was held online and offline (Stralsund, Germany) on 13-14 September 2023.
CCB participant in the session:
- Andrea Cervantes, CCB Biodiversity Officer
Outcomes of the meeting:
- the document "Bycatch mitigation for the Baltic Proper harbour porpoise, relating to the BSAP and the EC MarineAction Plan" was submitted for the meeting by CCB on 21.8.2023.
- CCB's Biodiversity Officer took notes on updated status for the protection of the harbour porpoise.
- This informal consultation was also linked to activities on offshore wind energy development in the region.
