CCB General Meeting

CCB held its biannual general meeting in Lviv, Ukraine on 20th-22nd of May 2016. A work plan for coming years was agreed upon and a new CCB board was elected. CCB also got two new members accepted at the general meeting, one from Latvia and one from Belarus.

CCB also held the annual conference focusing on river basin management and importance of cross border cooperation upstream. It is clear that without a strong cooperation, the objective of good environmental status in rivers and sea will be hard if not impossible to reach. The message from the conference was that it is possible and that NGOs have a big role to play in pushing for cross-border cooperation with upstream countries like Ukraine and Belarus. Letter to the German BALTFISH presidency for the protection of the Baltic harbour porpoise

6 February 2025 - Together with other NGOs, we sent a letter to the German Baltfish Presidency to demand urgent action to prevent the extinction of the Baltic harbour porpoise. The Baltic Proper harbour porpoise population is on the brink of extinction. This dire situation has been well-documented for many years. Solutions are available and can be implemented immediately, alongside necessary measures to restore the Baltic Sea's good environmental status. Allowing the loss of this unique population due to political inaction would be unacceptable and would undoubtedly face widespread societal condemnation. CCB welcomed a new Member Organization!

During the last CCB General Meeting , held online on 18 November 2024, CCB welcomed a new Member Organization in its network: the Finnish Society for Nature and Environment (Natur och Miljö), from Finland.
