HELCOM Manure Standards policy workshop
What is HELCOM? The Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission – also known as the Helsinki Commission (HELCOM) – is an intergovernmental organization (IGO) and a regional sea convention in the Baltic Sea area. HELCOM was established about four decades ago to protect the marine environment of the Baltic Sea from all sources of pollution through intergovernmental cooperation. The HELCOM Secretariat is located in Helsinki, Finland. To know more about it.

Description

The workshop was held at Falenty Centrum Szkoleniowo-Konferencyjne (address: al. Hrabska 4b, 05-090 Raszyn-Falenty) near the Warsaw airport, Poland, on 6 November 2018. The workshop started on Tuesday, 6 November 2018 at 11:00 and ended by 17:00. The workshop was organized by the Manure Standards project, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Poland and HELCOM.

Project “Advanced manure standards for sustainable nutrient management and reduced emissions” (Manure Standards) co-funded by Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme was launched in 2017 to help the Baltic Sea countries to accomplish the agreed actions regarding manure standards. HELCOM is a partner in the project and the HELCOM Agri group has agreed to be the link between scientific results of the project and the authorities (Outcome of AGRI 3-2016). The workshop was organized back-to-back with the HELCOM Workshop on regional nutrient recycling strategy held on 7 November at the same venue.
