What is HELCOM? The Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission – also known as the Helsinki Commission (HELCOM) – is an intergovernmental organization (IGO) and a regional sea convention in the Baltic Sea area. HELCOM was established about four decades ago to protect the marine environment of the Baltic Sea from all sources of pollution through intergovernmental cooperation. The HELCOM Secretariat is located in Helsinki, Finland. To know more about it.

Description

The Workshop started on Wednesday 12 December at 12:30 and ended on Thursday 13 December at 14:00. The Workshop was arranged in connection to a PanBaltic Scope Workshop on Green Infrastructure, with shared opening and closing sessions.

The workshop started with the nomination of experts from Contracting Parties, partners of the PanBaltic Scope project, and invited experts on Baltic Sea essential fish habitats, as by previous information.
