The #OceanDialogues2019 was a joint event between the European projects
MARINA and
ResponSEAble on the role of
Ocean Literacy and
Responsible Research and Innovation in supporting effective Ocean Governance.
By working at the
interface between society, policy and science, the event addressed challenges such as
engagement, co-creation and shared responsibility.
The outcome of the Ocean Dialogues 2019 was a
manifesto
that state how to make RRI and OL effective and successful including in seizing opportunities that the policy framework offers. The policy implications of the manifesto were be presented and discussed at a dedicated policy workshop organised at the European Parliament.
Ocean Dialogues 2019 was articulated in:
18th-19th March
- The conference (1.5 days with plenary, parallel sessions in key marine challenges and sectors, and roundtables and panel discussions)
- The Demo Deck, where participants were be invited to test tools and products developed by MARINA, ResponSEAble and parallel initiatives for supporting effective research and innovation & ocean literacy
- The workshop dedicated to Young Professionals
