What is HELCOM?
The Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission – also known as the Helsinki Commission (HELCOM) – is an intergovernmental organization (IGO) and a regional sea convention in the Baltic Sea area. HELCOM was established about four decades ago to protect the marine environment of the Baltic Sea from all sources of pollution through intergovernmental cooperation. The 11th Meeting of HELCOM Group on Ecosystem-based Sustainable Fisheries (FISH 11-2020) was organized in Gothenburg, Sweden, in the premises of Hotel Riverton (Stora Badhusgatan 26, 411 21), in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 11-12 March 2020.
