Description

The CCB Coastal Watching Days took place from September 20 to October 25 2022 in the Baltic Sea Region.

The Baltic Sea unites 9 countries located on its coast. The impact of the coastal activity on the sea is enormous, including coastal erosion, partly as a climate change effect, a growing number of visitors to the coastline, and associated impacts e.g. disturbance/destruction of natural habitats, more significant amounts of litter generated in coastal areas, import of invasive plant species. The coastal zone is a common and valuable shared resource, for which we have responsibility.

The CCB Maritime Working Area prepared a simple questionnaire for these Coastal Watching Days. It could be filled out while walking along the shore and it didn't require any special knowledge, so everyone could join.

How works the Coastal Watching Days?

- Step 1: Organize a field trip to the coast and make observations using our questionnaire:

-> Questionnaire in English.

-> Questionnaire in Russian.

- Step 2: Write a short article/post on any social media about your coastal watch experience adding #CCBCoastalWatchingDays.

Comments, questions and suggestions are welcome, the contact person for this event is Anna Ushakova, CCB Working Area Leader Maritime.
