Official meetings of all HELCOM Working and Experts Groups and other subsidiary bodies are postponed due to the HELCOM strategic pause until further notice, however, informal consultation sessions, without Russian participation, are organized and hosted by a Contracting Party.
The informal consultation sessions process and discuss documents and provide guidance and recommendations as to how to progress work.

Description
Finland and Sweden, acting as co-hosts hereby invited the Contracting Parties of HELCOM representing EU and EU Member States as well as HELCOM Observers to the Second Informal Consultation Workshop on discharges from tank washing on chemical tankers (IC WS DISCHARGES 2-2025) to be held in Gothenburg, Sweden at the premises of the Swedish Transport Agency (Mölndalsvägen 95) on 16 May 2025.
The workshop, co-organized jointly by John Nurminen Foundation, Coalition Clean Baltic and EUSBSR PA Ship will start at 13:00 (timezone: Berlin / Stockholm) on 16 May 2025 and is expected to terminate by 16:00 (timezone: Berlin / Stockholm) on the same day. The Workshop will be preceded by a lunch at 12:00 (timezone: Berlin / Stockholm), which will be offered in the workshop venue and provided by the organizers of the workshop.
The informal consultation workshop will focus on the implementation of action S16 of the HELCOM Baltic Sea Action Plan (BSAP) and MARPOL Annex II concerning the categorization and regulation of noxious liquid substances.
Participants are kindly requested to register to the workshop at the session site not later than by 9 May 2025.
