Accelerating the Baltic Sea Action Plan (BSAP) implementation [Interim]

DESCRIPTION

The state of the Baltic Sea ecosystem has not improved as highlighted in the third HELCOM holistic assessment (HOLAS 3). The Baltic Sea is under increasing pressure from climate change and biodiversity degradation caused by cumulative impact of anthropogenic activities causing eutrophication, pollution, land and sea resources misuse.

In this interim document, CCB want to outline what needs to be prioritized to achieve Baltic Sea Action Plan targets by 2030. Following BSAP’s list of actions, we have formulated inputs for priority ACTIONS under each segment by outlining associated CHALLENGES and SOLUTIONS. Due to the impact of the war in Ukraine on the environment, we have also included a separate section about Green Recovery Plan in relation to BSAP.

The full and final document will be released in Autumn 2024.
