Ecotrail bird watching

On December 15, 2021, a universal observation platform with a view of the Curonian Lagoon was opened on the Korolevskiy Bor ecological trail. The two-tiered tower is equipped with a ramp for the movement of people in wheelchairs and stationary binoculars, one of which, lower in height, is also designed for tourists with disabilities.
The construction of the observation platform is based on screw piles. Its base is made of ecological material - pines of various shades. The site will be decorated with bird figures made from recycled glass, which was once an ordinary bottle found on the shores of the Baltic Sea.

"There is no analogue of such a site in any national park in Russia. Korolevskiy Bor is an excellent example of how ideas are born in partnership and successfully implemented for the benefit of the guests of the national park" - said the director of the national park Anatoly Kalina.

Greenhouse

An innovative greenhouse was installed at the School of the Future at the end of 2021. It was created so that schoolchildren, among whom there are children with disabilities, could join the agricultural theme, try to grow vegetables, fruits, flowers on their own. As it turned out, this greenhouse is also important for teachers. Teachers come here not only for classes, but also just to relax, to feel closer to nature, to the earth.

The greenhouse was created according to the advanced technology of growing plants using hydroponics. This is a modern method that allows to get fresh vegetables, salads, root crops almost throughout the year.

Art tour

From June 18 to June 22, 2022, the first art tour for people with disabilities was held in the Kaliningrad region.

The team of ANO "Aura" met guests from Arkhangelsk, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Tatarstan. Many came to the Kaliningrad region for the first time, not just as tourists, but also with the desire to capture the memory of the amber region in the paintings that they will create during the week. The art tour for people with disabilities has become a logical continuation of a series of online painting master classes that have been held since February 2022 as part of the Step into the Future – Friendly and Comfortable Municipalities project.

The course was taught by Moscow artist Maria Gendeleva in two stages. 12 classes were held, in which, thanks to the online format, about 80 people with disabilities from all over Russia and even from abroad were able to take part. One of the bonuses of participating in master classes was an invitation to Kaliningrad from the organizers at the expense of the host for the most active participant.

During the week, the artists who gathered on the Kaliningrad land were waiting for an active and rich program. Visiting the unique sights of East Prussia, trips to the sea, to the national park, formal and informal acquaintance with the city. And of course, the guests drew a lot.
