What is the BSAC?
The Baltic Sea Advisory Council (BSAC) was set up in March 2006 after a decision by the EU to create so-called Regional Advisory Councils in the fisheries sector (Council Decision 2004/585/EC). The main aim of the BSAC is to prepare and provide advice on the management of Baltic Sea fisheries in order to achieve a successful running of the EU’s Common Fisheries Policy. Beskrivning
46 participants from the Baltic Sea EU Member States (BALTFISH, chaired by the Danish BALTFISH Presidency), the Baltic Sea Advisory Council (BSAC), a representative from the
European Commission (DG Mare), and scientists met in Copenhagen on 29th January 2018 at a Joint BSAC BALTFISH Workshop on recreational fishery for cod in the Baltic Sea.
The morning session was chaired by Ole Toft, Director of Fisheries, and in the afternoon by Sonja Feldthaus, Administrative officer, both representing the Danish BALTFISH Presidency, from the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. CCB participated as a speaker and as a moderator of group discussions.
