What is HELCOM?
The Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission – also known as the Helsinki Commission (HELCOM) – is an intergovernmental organization (IGO) and a regional sea convention in the Baltic Sea area. HELCOM was established about four decades ago to protect the marine environment of the Baltic Sea from all sources of pollution through intergovernmental cooperation. Beskrivning
The 19th Meeting of the joint HELCOM-VASAB Maritime Spatial Planning Working Group (HELCOM-VASAB MSP WG 18-2019) was held in St Petersburg, Russia, on
28-29 October 2019.
The Meeting focused on the discussion on proposals to advance regional MSP framework based on the outcomes of the recent assessment, requirements to ensure coherence of MSP in the region, reflection of MSP in the updated BSAP as well as the update of the group’s working plan expiring this year.
