What is HELCOM?
The Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission – also known as the Helsinki Commission (HELCOM) – is an intergovernmental organization (IGO) and a regional sea convention in the Baltic Sea area. HELCOM was established about four decades ago to protect the marine environment of the Baltic Sea from all sources of pollution through intergovernmental cooperation. On the 12.10.2020 from 09:00 to 16:00 CET was held online the 5th Workshop on implementation of the Regional Action Plan on Marine Litter
Eugeniy Lonabov who works for the Center for Environmental Solutions, Bettina Taylor from BUND and Agnieszka Fiszka Borzyszkowska from The Polish Ecological Club (PKE) participated to the event on behalf of CCB. Mikhail Durkin CCB’s Executive Secretary also took part in the meeting.
