The Session was attended by Delegations from Denmark, Estonia, the EU, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Sweden, by Observers from the Baltic Sea Action Group (BSAG), Coalition Clean Baltic (CCB), European Community Shipowners’ Associations (ECSA), INTERTANKO, and Race for the Baltic as well as invited guests from the EMERGE project.

Outcomes of the session:
- The Session took note of an outline for drafting BAP/BET to minimize nutrient losses from dry bulk fertilizer storage and handling in ports in the Baltic Sea submitted by CCB, Race for the Baltic and John Nurminen Foundation (document 6-2, Presentation 7). The Session recognized the information contained in the document as useful input for the implementation of action S21 in the 2021 BSAP.

- The Session supported a proposal to organize a workshop, involving also the BPO and stakeholders from ports, to further consider the way forward in identifying and drafting BAP/BET to minimize nutrient losses from dry bulk fertilizer storage and handling in ports in the Baltic Sea. The Session welcomed the offer by CCB and Race for the Baltic to co-host such a workshop. The Session invited Contracting Parties to also consider co-hosting and contributing to the workshop and to inform the Secretariat (marta.ruiz@helcom.fi) accordingly.
