The informal workshop on Best Available Technology (BAT)/Best Environmental Practices (BEP) to minimize nutrient losses from dry bulk fertilizer storage and handling in ports in the Baltic Sea was held on 14 March 2023 (10-15 CET) within the frame of the 2023 Transport Week
organized by the Baltic Ports Organization.
The Workshop was co-hosted by the Governments of Poland, Finland and Germany, and co-organized jointly by Race for the Baltic (Sweden), John Nurminen Foundation (Finland) and Coalition Clean Baltic – CCB (Sweden). The workshop was organized as hybrid to attract more participants. Approximately 30 participants could be accommodated offline.
The main purpose of the workshop was to progress towards implementation of the HELCOM BSAP (Baltic Sea Action Plan) action S21 “Develop and introduce best technologies, techniques and practices (BAT/BEP) to minimize nutrient losses from dry bulk fertilizer storage and handling in ports in the Baltic Sea region by 2024.”
Participation supported by CCB's participation in the event was supported by the European Union. Views and opinions expressed are however those of the author(s) only and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union or CINEA.
