2nd informal consultation session of the Expert Group on Migratory Fish Species (IC EG FISH-M 2-2024)
Official meetings of all HELCOM Working and Experts Groups and other subsidiary bodies are postponed due to the HELCOM strategic pause until further notice, however, informal consultation sessions, without Russian participation, are organized and hosted by a Contracting Party.
The informal consultation sessions process and discuss documents and provide guidance and recommendations as to how to progress work.

Beskrivning

While official meetings and other events of all HELCOM Working and Expert Groups and other subsidiary bodies are postponed due to the HELCOM strategic pause until further notice, informal consultation sessions, without Russian participation, can be organized and hosted by a Contracting Party.

The 2nd informal consultation session of the Expert Group on Migratory Fish Species (IC EG FISH-M 2-2024) was convened on 30-31 January 2024. The Session was organized online.

The Session started on Tuesday 30 January 2024 at 10.00 EET and ended on Wednesday 31 January by 13.00 EET.

Outcomes of the meeting
- the Session was dedicated to discussing the need to update/revise HELCOM Recommendation 32-33/1, specifically targeting salmon as well as the implementation of BSAP Action S50.

- the Session elected Nils Höglund, CCB, as Chair of EG Fish-M for the time period of 2024-2026, as recommended by IC WG FISH 2-2023.
