Informal consultation session of the HELCOM-VASAB MSP WG 4-2024
Official meetings of all HELCOM Working and Experts Groups and other subsidiary bodies are postponed due to the HELCOM strategic pause until further notice, however, informal consultation sessions, without Russian participation, are organized and hosted by a Contracting Party.
The informal consultation sessions process and discuss documents and provide guidance and recommendations as to how to progress work.

Beskrivning

While official meetings and other events of all HELCOM Working and Expert Groups and other subsidiary bodies are postponed due to the HELCOM strategic pause until further notice, informal consultation sessions, without Russian participation, can be organized and hosted by a Contracting Party.

The Informal consultation session of the HELCOM-VASAB MSP WG 4-2024 was convened on 19-21 March 2024. The Session was organized online.

Outcomes of the meeting
This session focused on the discussion of the need for the revision of Recommendation 17/3 and its links to the HELCOM-VASAB MSP WG.

The IC HELCOM-VASAB MSP WG 4-2024 invited - CCB to gather more background analysis on why the revision is needed; and
- the HELCOM Secretariat to prepare a document to be submitted for the next session of the WG for considering whether to recommend a revision and whether this WG is the proper one to host the Recommendation (cf. document 3-6 submitted to this session).
