Ocean Lab
Organised by Surfrider Foundation Europe & BirdLife Europe and Central Asia. Brought to you by the 6 Blue NGOs organising Ocean Week

Beskrivning

As the European Parliament embarks on its 10th legislative term, the urgency to protect our oceans has never been greater. To address this, a coalition of leading environmental NGOs — BirdLife Europe and Central Asia, ClientEarth, Oceana, Seas At Risk, the WWF European Policy Office and Surfrider Foundation Europe — organised the OCEAN LAB as part of Ocean Week 2024, on 2 October.

This event was tailored for Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) and their teams. They were guided through five core topics: Pollution and Health, Biodiversity and Climate Change, Energy Transition, Fisheries and Food, and Sustainable Blue Economy and Just Transition. The event features experts from across Europe, including oceanographers, ecotoxicologists, biologists, and NGO experts based in Brussels and EU Member States.

CCB participant in the event
The CCB Eutrophication Working Area Leader, Ewa Leś, was one of the experts taking part in the Lab.
