The BALTFISH presidency held a symposium on seal – fish/fisheries interaction in the Baltic Sea. It took place on the 19 – 20 March 2019 at the Elite Park Avenue Hotel in Gothenburg, Sweden. Sweden, as the current Chair of Baltfish, took the initiative to hold this symposium recognising the importance of further dialogue on the impacts of seals on fish stocks and fisheries management in the Baltic Sea.
Nils Höglund, CCB Fisheries Policy Officer and Chair of the BSAC working group on ecosystem based management, had a presentation on seal and fisheries interaction:
