What is HELCOM?
The Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission – also known as the Helsinki Commission (HELCOM) – is an intergovernmental organization (IGO) and a regional sea convention in the Baltic Sea area. HELCOM was established about four decades ago to protect the marine environment of the Baltic Sea from all sources of pollution through intergovernmental cooperation. HELCOM held the 15th Meeting of the Working Group on Reduction of Pressures from the Baltic Sea Catchment Area online from the 02.11.2021 to the 04.11.2021.
Bettina Taylor who works for BUND participated to the event on behalf of CCB. Mikhail Durkin, CCB Executive Secretary, also attended the meeting.
