What is HELCOM?
The Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission – also known as the Helsinki Commission (HELCOM) – is an intergovernmental organization (IGO) and a regional sea convention in the Baltic Sea area. HELCOM was established about four decades ago to protect the marine environment of the Baltic Sea from all sources of pollution through intergovernmental cooperation. On the 25.03.2021 was held online the 4th Meeting of the Biodiversity segment team for drafting the updated Baltic Sea Action Plan.
Aimi Hamberg, who works for the Danish Society and Nature Conservation participated to the event under CCB. Ida Carlén, CCB Biodiversity Officer also attended the meeting.
