What is HELCOM?
The Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission – also known as the Helsinki Commission (HELCOM) – is an intergovernmental organization (IGO) and a regional sea convention in the Baltic Sea area. HELCOM was established about four decades ago to protect the marine environment of the Baltic Sea from all sources of pollution through intergovernmental cooperation. HELCOM held online the 6th Meeting of the Ad hoc Drafting Group for the Updated Baltic Sea Action Plan. The event was from the 22.04.2021 starting at 9:00 until the 21.04.2021 ending at 16:00 CET.
