The inauguration of the eighth edition of the International Maritime Congress took place on September 14 at the Szczecin Philharmonic.
On the first day of the Congress, debates took place at the Szczecin Philharmonic regarding intermodal transport as the key to economic international integration and the TEN-T instrument in the area of the Three Seas Initiative countries as well as discussions on the development of ports as the transport challenges of the future. The discussions focused on the reconstruction of economies in the times of the pandemic in the context of the Reconstruction Plan for the EU, National Reconstruction Plan and the Polish Deal.
During the two-day Congress, panels were following thematic blocks: Ports and Shipping; Education, Development and Innovation; Ecology; Security, Law and Finance.
An important topic of the international debate was the offshore industry as an impulse for the development of ports, but also water transport as an alliance of business and ecology, or activities in the maritime economy benefitting the climate.
Discussions were also on global transport, cybersecurity, autonomous transport, automation and digitisation of port services, technological solutions for green ship propulsion.
